Art has the power to transcend our daily lives and challenge our basic understandings. There is a distinct lack of Asian representation in the cultural sphere, a presumed passivity which opens a vacuum for fearmongering and misrepresentation. I believe art can effectively engage with diasporic cultures and the politics of representation.
